Javorca, memorial Church of the Holy Spirit
A wooden sanctuary rises high above the Tolminka river - a memorial church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca. It is dedicated to the fallen Austro-Hungarian defenders of the Battle of the Isonzo Front of Tolmin (1915-1917). As the most beautiful monument of the First World War on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia, it became one of the historic monuments bearing the mark of European cultural heritage in 2007.

Russian Chapel on the Vršič Pass
Vršič is the largest mountain pass in Slovenia (1611m), connecting Gorenjska with Trenta. Russian prisoners of war were it built during the First World War. The Russian chapel reminds them of their sacrifices under the passage.
